  • TASTING NOTE: "Single-vineyard terroir expression is the objective of the flagship King Billy wines. The '24 vintage is the first time the quality of chardonnay from the Mount Barker site has been deemed particularly exceptional and marks the first King Billy bottling of the variety. Luminous pale gold, it carries a breeze of ozone and sea spray, priming the senses. Preserved lemon, loquat, white stone fruit, lime zest and candied ginger radiate through the core of the wine, mingling with the oak's ginger snap spice and vanillin influence. Texturally, it's saline and lipsmacking, and a veil of creamy lees softens and curtails. It's beautiful and interesting, and it meets the site-expression brief with ease." 96 Points - Katrina Butler, Halliday
  • ABOUT THE WINE: Vintage 2024 was the warmest, driest and earliest vintage on record. The Chardonnay was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed off our Langton vineyard before the extreme hot weather late February, allowing us to preserve the fresh acidity. This is classic Mount Barker chardonnay, high in minerality, crisp and clean, yet full and complex. West Cape Howe
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Founded in 1997 and owned by four Western Australian families, West Cape Howe has become one of Western Australia’s favourite wine brands. The Langton vineyard was established in 1978 and has some of the most mature vines in the Great Southern, consistently producing the highest quality fruit. In recent years, West Cape Howe acquired neighboring vineyards in Mt Barker and has significant vineyard resources in Frankland. With a reliable climate, these vineyards have contributed to the consistent quality of West Cape Howe’s wines.
