  • ASTING NOTE: The wine opens with intense aromas of grapefruit and nectarine, complemented by subtle nuances of French oak. The palate shows a core of citrus and stone fruit, supported by a gently creamy, nutty texture. Soft background notes of spice and toasted bread from oak add further complexity. Effortlessly mouth-filling, the wine strikes a fine balance between freshness and richness. The fruit’s natural acidity brings liveliness and precision to a long, lingering finish that continues well after the last sip. A wine of both power and finesse, it is ideally suited to rich poultry or creamy shellfish dishes with sautéed vegetables, and will continue to develop complexity in bottle over time. Singlefile
  • ABOUT THE WINE: The 2025 fruit, harvested on 22 March, was chilled overnight, then whole bunch pressed and fermented with a third of the juice going to new oak, and the remainder to one year old French oak barriques from the Marsannay, Tonnellerie Quintessence, Louis Latour and D&J cooperages. The wine spent eight months in oak with a partial malolactic fermentation to develop mouth feel and richness. Lees stirring (bâtonnage) occurred at weekly intervals during the first five months in barrel. The wine was rested prior to bottling, then given additional time in bottle to allow for further integration before release.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Based near Denmark, Singlefile is a family owned winery, co-founded by Phil and Viv Snowden and their daughter Pam and her husband Patrick Corbett. Singlefile aims to showcase the best of the five diverse sub-regions of the Great Southern in Western Australia. This prolific producer produces a broad range of wines from across the region but specialises in Chardonnay with the home vineyard producing some of Australia's best examples of the varietal. The estate is named for the geese that patrol the home vineyard, waddling around in singlefile.
