ABOUT THE PRODUCER: As is customary in Burgundy, estates are divided among the next generation. With the 2021 vintage, Simon received two-thirds of his father Philippe’s vineyards, marking the official start of Domaine Simon Colin. Over the next decade, Simon is set to acquire the remaining vineyards, including Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots, ensuring his place among Burgundy’s elite. Though Simon officially began receiving his family’s vineyards in 2021, his winemaking journey began long before that. He produced his first wines under the Simon Colin label in 2017, sourcing fruit from Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, and Rully to create a range of regional and Premier Cru wines. His winemaking philosophy is rooted in family tradition but influenced by his diverse experiences in Burgundy and beyond. Simon has trained under his uncle Bruno Colin and worked as the assistant winemaker at the prestigious Domaine Etienne Sauzet through the 2020 harvest. He has also traveled internationally, assisting at Domaine Philippe Colin (Topiary) in South Africa and completing a harvest at Adelsheim Winery in Oregon. His hands-on experience across continents has allowed him to refine his craft and bring new perspectives to his winemaking.
