- TASTING NOTE: "Never been a big fan of Primitivo, or Zinfandel for that matter, but this wine shows the grape in a different light. Still the typical deep purple you'd expect in the glass, it looks like it's going to be full on but there is so much vitality to this wine. Ripe dark berries, sweet balsamic and earthy undertones are wrapped in fine tannin. The a palate is super supple with a finish that is long and fresh, with mineral etched acidity providing the necessary backbone to all that fruit. A lovely winter drop." David Gillman, HWS
- ABOUT THE WINE: Produced from a selection of the best pots of the estate. Vinified 100% in stainless steel. Short, 2-3 day maceration. Unfiltered.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Marriana Annio and Raffaele Leo are the proprietors of Agricole Pietraventosa located in Puglia in the DOC of Gioia De Colle. Certified organic since it's first vintage in 2005, the focus here is on Primitivo. Winemaking is minimal in style with native yeasts used, oak eschewed (except in their Riserva wine) and additions and subtractions kept to a minimum.
