- TASTING NOTE: "An absolutely gorgeous Picardy Chardonnay that keeps finesse and elegance sacrosanct, whilst introducing a thrilling opulence to the equation. Bright from the moment you pull the cork, with sumptuous white peach, nectarine, citrus fruit and ginger leading the charge. Seamless, and deceptively light, the creamy barrel notes expand, fanning out across the back palate. Quite the wine!” Ambrose Nock
- ABOUT THE WINE: Picardy Chardonnay is made from equal portions of the four preferred clones 76, 95, 96 and 277 (selected by the University of Dijon) to achieve complexity. The Pannells are looking towards the great white wines of the old world for inspiration and look to make a Chardonnay with floral characters, citrus fruits and minerality with good structure and texture. Excellent fruit intensity, structure, pH to acid relationship and fine-grained tannins guarantee long life and excellent bottle development. The wines are also very approachable in their early years.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Pemberton based Picardy is owned and operated by Bill, Sandra and Dan Pannell. Picardy was established by the family in 1993. Bill and Sandra were pioneers of the Margaret River region, establishing Moss Wood vineyard and winery in 1969. After selling Moss Wood in 1985, the Pannells had an interest in Volnay’s Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, until the purchase of the property in Pemberton. Dan has grown up in the wine industry and in 1993 completed a Bachelors of Science (Oenology) at The University of Adelaide.
