- TASTING NOTE: This has attractive notes of apricots, toasted hazelnuts and grilled pears. Tasty salted caramel undertones. Fleshy and nicely textured with a full body and focused finish. Drink now. 91 Points - James Suckling

ABOUT THE WINE: Below 230m altitude, producing AOC village wines is not authorized. Often a simple path separates the Burgundy area from its well-named neighbours. The soil is quite rich in colluvium and small pebbles. The
wine comes from a blend of around sixty selected plots located both in the village of Puligny-Montrachet and also in Meursault. Three parcels of the Côte Chalonnaise and ten in the Hautes Côte de Beaune complete the supplies. The wine is made like the greatest. On arrival at the cellar, the grapes are pressed immediately and delicately using pneumatic presses.
60% crushed grapes, 40% destemmed grapes 14 months ageing of which 75% in oak barrels (15% new) the rest in stainlesss steel. -
ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Olivier Leflaive was co-manager of Domaine Leflaive until 1994 before withdrawing to concentrate on his own venture which he started in 1985. Today the domaine produces wine from some 65 appellations with 85% of the production being white wine. One of Burgundy’s most respected producers the estate produces a number of domaine wines from its own vineyards alongside its range of negocé bottlings. The wines are made by Franck Grux and the theme in their wines is elegance and finesse rather than power with restrained use of oak and great purity of fruit.
