- ABOUT THE WINE: Our second hit at Nebbiolo, and a paradoxical grape at that… Big and brooding with healthy doses of tannins and an earthy undercurrent, but as pale coloured as a pinot! A wine with a bit of swagger. After going to Italy, we fell in love with neb, but it is only grown here in WA in small amounts and closely guarded. To finally release this wine is an honour. Its worth decanting, and enjoyed with your finest Italian feast. Cherries, campari, herbs and spice, with a chalky structure that craves a dinner table experience. As with any rare varietal such as this, we only made 500L in a single barrel. Don’t snooze on it. LS Merchants
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: From the LS team..."THE STORY BEHIND LS MERCHANTS- It’s all because a young winemaker from Geelong wanted something more from Margaret River than Cab Sauv and Chardy. Dylan Arvidson was born in Blenheim NZ, raised in Geelong VIC and moved to Margaret River in 2009 after being offered a job at Juniper Estate. He realised early on that although his favourite variety to drink and make is Chardonnay, his passion lay in finding obscure varieties or fruit not typically well known in our region and making it into the best possible example of that variety. Throwing the textbooks away and working on flavours rather than analysis and taking winemaking back to basics." The LS Merchants team works with like-minded growers from around WA to produce expressive, fun, minimal intervention wine, that doesn't take itself too seriously.
