Lionel Faury 'Hedonism' Saint Joseph 2018 Magnum
Couldn't load pickup availability
- TASTING NOTE: Brilliant ruby. Dark berries, peppery spices, pungent flowers and a hint of olive on the perfumed nose. Juicy, penetrating and appealingly sweet, offering lively blackberry and cherry flavors and a floral pastille nuance that builds steadily with air. Supple, even tannins frame the persistent, mineral-tinged finish, which repeats the floral and spice notes. 60% whole clusters. (Drink between 2022-2028) 91 Points - Josh Reynolds, Vinous
- ABOUT THE WINE: The Saint Joseph Hedonism is from 10-35-year-old vines and bottled without filtration

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Third generation Lionel Faury joined the family Domaine in 2005 and his father Jean retired in 2008. Lionel very much follows in his father’s footsteps, seeking to craft wines which capture the essence of place be it Saint-Joseph, Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie or the Collines Rhodaniennes. The steep, largely granitic slopes are terraced, favoured by south to south- east exposure and the Domaine is now settled at 17 hectares. Lionel’s winemaking remains non-interventionist: 100% gravity flow, very light filtration on whites only, wild ferments in concrete tanks with temperature control, and a near absence of new and small oak in favour of older demi-muids and foudres . Lionel sees himself as a ‘custodian of yesterday's world, an agricultural artisan’, with others to follow tomorrow.
