- ABOUT THE WINE: Vineyards with western exposure in the southernmost part of Alto Adige, with their comfortably cool microclimates, constitute the most suitable locations for this variety with such exacting site requirements. Long-lasting, mild evening sun brings forth the typical Burgundy aromas on these clayey soils. In this way, the wine develops its lacy fruitiness of cherries, plum, redcurrants and red forest berries which is underlined by its spicy aromas. On the palate this wine is fresh, with elegant body and juicy tannins. Vinified and aged in stainless steel and concrete tanks. Kurtatsch

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Cantina Kurtatsch is a co-operative based in Alto Adige which has been operating since 1900. Representing 190 growers they produce a range of wines from vineyards on breathtakingly steep slopes from 220-900m a.s.l. - such a large difference in altitude within one municipality is unique in Europe. The low elevations are among the warmest in Alto Adige and are perfect for important red wines. On the high-altitude sites above the main village of Kurtatsch, the white varieties find ideal conditions. Kurtatsch
