  • TASTING NOTE: "Expressive and fruity, this Mercurey wine discloses aromas of raspberry and cherry. It is a light, fresh wine with very soft tannins, making it easy to drink even when young"  91 Points - Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022
  • ABOUT THE WINE: The vines for this wine are planted beneath the Clos des Grands Voyens, at the bottom of the slope where the land is almost flat with deep and rich soil due to erosion from the hill above. The grapes picked and sorted entirely by hand, cold macerated for 15 to 10 days in vat with regular cap punching and pumping over for optimal extraction of tannin and aromas. Aged in lightly toasted oak barrels for 12 months (20% new)
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Bênoit Eschard, sixth generation at this domaine which was founded in 1858, took over in 2011 and has been developing the sale of wine in bottle. The domaine only makes Mercurey, 80 percent of which comes from premier cru vineyards such as Clos l'Evêque, Les Nauges and the 5ha monopole, Clos des Grands Voyens. The wines are destemmed and matured in barrel with 20 to 30 per cent new wood for the premier crus Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
