- TASTING NOTE: "59/33/6/2% shiraz/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc/merlot; 60/40% blend of Eden Valley/Barossa grapes. The 2022 release smells plummy and expressive with layers of spice, dried herbs, sage, bay leaf, blackberry pastille, tobacco leaf olive tapenade and earth. Some lovely nutty oak tones roll through on the palate, which shows wonderfully pure black fruits, fine, silty tannins and a vibrant line." 94 Points - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion 2024
- ABOUT THE WINE: Keyneton Euphonium is a beautiful composition of shiraz (59%) from up to 50-year-old vines growing in the Eden and Barossa Valleys, blended with cabernet sauvignon (33%), cabernet franc (6%) and merlot (2%) from selected vineyards in both regions. Matured in 20% new French oak hogsheads, and 80% seasoned French and American oak hogsheads for 20 months prior to blending and bottling.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Henschke is one of Australia's great wine producers, situated in Keyneton in the Eden Valley of South Australia. The Henschke's trace their roots in Australia to the mid 19th century with the first recorded sale of Henschke wine in 1868. It's flagship wine, the 'Hill Of Grace' Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard from vines over 160 years old. The current generations of the Henschke family (5th and 6th) that tend the 109 hectares under vine in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills, use organic and biodynamic principals in their vineyards and are world leaders in sustainable wine production.
