- TASTING NOTE: "From a very good vintage, the colour shows no sign of age, the bouquet and palate reminiscent of a Beethoven symphony, throbbing with power, its black fruits in a web of fine, ripe tannins, building inexorably to the last movement, constantly revisiting and rephrasing all that has gone before." 99 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
- ABOUT THE WINE: 100% Shiraz from pre-phylloxera material brought from Europe in the mid 1800's and grown on the Henschke Hill of Grave Vineyard in Eden Valley wine region, managed with organic and biodynamic principals.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Henschke is one of Australia's great wine producers, situated in Keyneton in the Eden Valley of South Australia. The Henschke's trace their roots in Australia to the mid 19th century with the first recorded sale of Henschke wine in 1868. It's flagship wine, the 'Hill Of Grace' Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard from vines over 160 years old. The current generations of the Henschke family (5th and 6th) that tend the 109 hectares under vine in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills, use organic and biodynamic principals in their vineyards and are world leaders in sustainable wine production.
