  • TASTING NOTE: "Very good retention of hue; the bouquet is now moving into secondary mode, with a seamless fusion between the black fruits, oak and tannins. There are highways and byways to explore, but you always come back to the point of departure. Along the way nuances of red fruits have joined in, and the spices previously locked away are now great contributors to the wine. Whereas the '06 still needs time, this is open for business, and will likely be at its best over the next 9-10 years." 96 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion (July 2021)
  • ABOUT THE WINE: 100% Shiraz from pre-phylloxera material brought from Europe in the mid 1800's and grown on the Henschke Hill of Grave Vineyard in Eden Valley wine region, managed with organic and biodynamic principals.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Henschke is one of Australia's great wine producers, situated in Keyneton in the Eden Valley of South Australia. The Henschke's trace their roots in Australia to the mid 19th century with the first recorded sale of Henschke wine in 1868. It's flagship wine, the 'Hill Of Grace' Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard from vines over 160 years old. The current generations of the Henschke family (5th and 6th) that tend the 109 hectares under vine in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills, use organic and biodynamic principals in their vineyards and are world leaders in sustainable wine production.
