  • TASTING NOTE: "A blend of organic/biodynamically farmed 99/1% cabernet sauvignon/merlot from the Cyril Henschke vineyard in the Eden Valley from the outstanding 2021 vintage. A beautiful bright magenta/crimson in the glass with a pretty, lifted aromatic profile. Plum, blackberry and blackcurrant with notes of sage, bay leaf, dried herbs, violets and crushed stone. Fruit pure and detailed with a very long, graceful finish and superfine, powdery, granitic tannins. A wonderful release for the Cyril Henschke." 96 Points - Dave Brookes, Halliday
  • ABOUT THE WINE: Fourth generation Cyril Henschke planted cabernet sauvignon at the Henschke Eden Valley property in the late 1960s. The cabernet sauvignon vines, along with cabernet franc and merlot, are planted on a north facing slope, and are managed with organic and biodynamic practices. Matured in 8% new and 92% seasoned French oak hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Henschke is one of Australia's great wine producers, situated in Keyneton in the Eden Valley of South Australia. The Henschke's trace their roots in Australia to the mid 19th century with the first recorded sale of Henschke wine in 1868. It's flagship wine, the 'Hill Of Grace' Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard from vines over 160 years old. The current generations of the Henschke family (5th and 6th) that tend the 109 hectares under vine in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills, use organic and biodynamic principals in their vineyards and are world leaders in sustainable wine production.
