- TASTING NOTE: "The vines come from Guillaume’s grandmother in Les Condemennes, Fremières, Creux Baissants (2 plots), thus covering the appellation nicely. Fairly solid deep purple colour. Quite generous in bouquet with a pleasing richness throughout. Racy and also quite luxurious, lower in tannins with the acidity offering a little pinprick through the coating of fruit." Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Domaine Georges Glantenay is based in Volnay. There have been six generations of Glantenays in Volnay and Guillaume and his sister Sarah are the third to bottle wine. The Domaine is named for their grandfather. Guillaume and Sarah work on the lutte raisonnee system in the vines, and are meticulous in de-budding to restrain yeilds. Guillaume is happy to be among the first to pick in the region and generally destems his grapes, giving them a cool pre-fermentation maceration, and a little bit more at the end as well. The use of new oak is measured, 20% for village wines and a third for the 1er crus.
