TASTING NOTE: "A light, fun expression of the vintage that was. Cinsault's light fragrance & crunchy acidity, Grenache donating volume and vibrant fruit, Syrah lends some darkness and spice, with Mourvedre to round it out with a little leather and gaminess. Cellar temp in the cooler months for a fuller & spicier expression. Serve slightly chilled over the warmer months for a 12pm, 5pm and / or midnight elixir." Frederick Stevenson
- ABOUT THE WINE: The wine is a blend of 38% Cinsault, 33% Grenache, 23% Syrah, and 2% Mourvèdre. The Cinsault and Syrah come from Ahrens in Vine Vale, where the soil is a sandy layer over clay, while the Grenache and Mourvèdre are sourced from Hongell in Krondorf and Hoffmann in Ebenezer. The Grenache is picked early to retain acidity and whole-bunch fermented to give it upfront presence.
