  • TASTING NOTE: "A bright and juicy version of the variety, vibrant and cooling, citrusy in a pretty way. Some rosy lift and a general sense of lemongrass and ginger brightness in the mix. So even, flowing, deeply flavoursome. A pleasing and generous style of riesling, unashamed of its origins and feeling pure and natural as it goes. Delicious. Serious. Complex." 95 Points - Mike Bennie, Halliday
  • ABOUT THE WINE: The Block 2 Riesling is a single vineyard wine from dry grown vines planted in 1975. Our old vines which include the original plantings, are very special to Forest Hill and are treated with a great deal of respect. The nature of old vines necessitates special treatment in viticultural management ensuring hand harvesting and pruning. These gnarly old vines are deep rooted and characterized by lower vigour and yields with smaller berries and intense flavours. Forest Hill
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Forest Hill Vineyard has a unique place in the history of Western Australia’s wine industry, being the first cool climate vineyard planted in the state in 1965 as an experiment by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture. The original vineyard was planted with Riesling and Cabernet cuttings sourced from the Houghton's property in the Swan Valley. The property was purchased by the Lyons family in 1996 who embarked on a program to rejuvenate the old vineyards and plant appropriate new ones.
