- TASTING NOTE: "We loved this Chablis from the second it was poured for us. The cooler and difficult 24 vintage has definitely seen a return to what we would consider more classic stylings for the wines of this region. This has a subtle salinity with pithy citrus and crisp green apple fruit character. Most welcome is the precise acid line and delicate mineral character. Textbook. " David Gillman, HWS
- ABOUT THE WINE: Domaine Séguinot-Bordet’s 2024 Chablis comes from the family’s classic right-bank vineyards around Maligny and is made by Jean-François Bordet in cool-fermented stainless steel, then matured on lees to build texture without oak.
-
ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Domaine Séguinot-Bordet dates back to the 1590’s and is now managed by the young Jean-François Bordet who has recently taken over from his grandfather Roger Séguinot. Most of the 16 hectares of vineyards are located on the right bank of the Serein River benefiting from a perfect south / south-east exposition. Jean-François Bordet practises coolish fermentation and allows his wines to mature for 3-5 months on their lees; this maximises the contact and promotes a luscious style to the wines. His approach is clearly contemporary, but it delivers very stylish wines which fully express both the fruit and terroir.
