  • TASTING NOTE: "The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens with a bouquet that blends savory herbs and worn leather with crushed wild berries. It's softly textured and round, with a pretty inner sweetness and juicy red fruits cascading under rosy inner florals. The 2019 tapers off long and gently tannic, as a bump of residual acidity maintains an energetic feel." 92 Points - Eric Guido, Vinous
  • ABOUT THE WINE: Grapes are harvested by hand into small crates, and are then lightly crushed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel. All of Collosorbo’s Sangiovese based wines are matured in neutral oak foudres, with theBrunello seeing a minimum of two years in oak.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Tenuta di Collosorbo is a 30 hectare estate established in 1995, after the generational division of the family owned Tenuta di Sesta farm, which was composed of 180 hectares of woodlands, olive groves, wheatfields, vineyards and pasture. At the helm of the estate are three passionate and knowledgeable women: owner, Giovanna Ciacci and her daughters: winemaker Laura Sutera Sardo, and agronomist Lucia Sutera Sardo. Collosorbo’s estate vineyards combine three of the region’s soil types: red clay, rocky ‘galestro’, and sandy limestone – a very rare occurrence in Montalcino. Vineyard practices at the estate are meticulous, with the object of attaining the healthiest and most mature grapes possible, so that a minimalist approach can be employed in the cellar.
