  • TASTING NOTE: "It’s hard to resist the warm peach fruit and baking spice aromas of this succulent Kabinett. However, on the palate this has an exciting twist of cassis freshness. Excellent vitality. From up to 100-year-old ungrafted vines. Vegan. Drink or hold.93 Points - JamesSuckling.com
  • ABOUT THE WINE: Fruit is sourced from the un-grafted vines of the Herrenberg vineyards, which sit above the ancient vineyard Maximim Herrenberg. Vines are up to 100 years old and grow in red slate. The higher altitude and diurnal range here promotes slow ripening, ideal for grapes intended for the delicate structure of Kabinett Riesling. Made in the traditional Mosel Kabinett style with very low alcohol and prefect balance of residual sugar and acidity.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The Carl Loewen estate can trace it's beginnings back to 1803, but it was in the 1980's and 90's that Karl Josef Loewen began to seek out and purchase plots in some of the great vineyards of the Mosel. Today the estate covers 15 hectares, all managed by organically. Their focus is Riesling with only a small amount of Pinot Blanc also being produced. Wine making inputs are very minimal, with the Loewen's favouring very long, slow natural fermentations.  The jewel in the Loewen crown is the Maximim Herrenberg vineyard, planted with ungrafted vines dating back to 1896.
