- TASTING NOTE: "The fourth edition of Bollinger's limited PN series is the most expressive yet, with a hugely satisfying, expansive character. Dried pear, stewed Bramley apple and nectarine melt into the depths of reserve wine complexity, with chestnut honey and perfectly pitched savoury interest. It's surprisingly silky, the texture surprisingly weightless, the shape rounded and cushioned rather than strict or driving. A highly rewarding Champagne, ready to drink but with interesting potential to evolve over the next five years. 100% Pinot Noir, predominantly from Aÿ, with support from the villages of Tauxières and Verzenay. Based on the 2018 vintage, with 50% reserve wines back to 2009." 94 Points - Tom Hewson, Decanter

ABOUT THE WINE: Made exclusively from pinot noir, this singular champagne expresses Champagne Bollinger's unique vision of this grape variety. Each edition gives free rein to one main cru and one vintage, carefully selected by Champagne Bollinger, so that each new cuvée will be an reinvention of the original one. PN AYC18 is an assembly of 100% Pinot Noir, predominantly from the Aÿ cru. It is blended with other villages on the Montage de Reims, such as Tauxières and Verzenay. The base year is 2018. Older wines also feature from our reserve magnums, the oldest of which dates back to 2009. Its ageing period in the cellar is twice as long as required by appellation regulations and its dosage is moderate : 6 grams per litre. PN AYC18 is the 4th release under the Bollinger PN program.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Based in Aÿ, Bollinger has created prestigious champagnes since 1829. The Bollinger vineyards cover 179 hectares, most of which are classified Grand or Premier Cru with Pinot Noir the predominate variety. Continuity of style is ensured by an exceptional collection of over 800,000 reserve magnums and the best crus are vinified in wood thanks to a stock of 4,000 small, aged casks maintained by the in-house cooper. The house lets its wines mature for twice as long as the appellation requirement. A prominent brand in popular culture, the house is well known as the Champagne of choice of James Bond and was first featured in the fourth James Bond novel Diamonds Are Forever in 1956. It's most famous wines are the single vintage La Grand Anneé and R.D. and the Vieilles Vignes Françaises Blanc de Noirs, which is produced from two Grand Cru plots of pre-phylloxera Pinot Noir, adjacent to the house in Aÿ.
