Benito Ferrera 'Terra d'Uva' Greco Di Tufo 2022

- TASTING NOTE: "The 2022 Greco di Tufo Terra d'Uva opens in the glass with a bouquet that blends fresh mint with kiwi and candied lime. It's soft and round with cooling acidity and crisp orchard fruits that find a lovely contrast through air of sweet inner florals. This finishes dry yet fresh, leaving a mineral tinge and a pleasantly bitter sensation tha calls the taster back to the glass. Benito Ferrara nailed it in the 2022 vintage-the balance here is remarkable." 92 Points - Eric Guido, Vinous.com
- ABOUT THE WINE: 100% Greco from the district of San Paolo. Vines range from 5 to 60 years old. Eastern exposure. 500 meters above sea level. Soft pressing of the fruit is followed by fermentation and maturation in stainless steel for 7 months before bottling.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: It was Nunziante Ferrara who first planted vineyards in San Paolo in the 1880s. A judge in Avellino, he kept meticulous records of his activities, including transporting his wines by donkey to the town of Tufo to sell them to local osterie and private clients! Nunziante’s grandson Benito was the first to concentrate on producing high quality wine, and in 1991, the first label of the estate was born. The fourth generation of the Ferrara family, Gabriella Ferrara and husband Sergio are now at the helm. They have 12.5 hectares under vine at 450-600 meters above sea level in calcareous clay soil of volcanic origin, with chunks of yellow sulfur marking the surface of the yellow-tinged soils. Approximately 50,000 bottles are produced annually at this gem of a family-run estate with enologist Paolo Caciorgna—a student of Giulio Gambelli—assisting in the winemaking.
