Aged for 14 months in 500 litres new and one year old French oak barrels. \u003cstrong\u003eClos Figueras\u003c\/strong\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eABOUT THE PRODUCER:\u003c\/strong\u003e Clos Figueras has an excellent vineyard, with the classic 'llicorella' soil, in the famous Gratallops area of the Priorat appellation. The property was acquired in October 1997 by Charlotte and Christopher Cannan on the recommendation of René Barbier, owner of the famous Clos Mogador estate and founder of the “new wave” Priorat movement during the late 1980s. An initial purchase of approximately 10 hectares of abandoned terraces was followed by a further acquisition in 2000 to complete the 18-hectare estate. The original vineyard had a small plot planted with old Carignan vines. The rest has been replanted with Grenache, Syrah, a very small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, and Viognier. Later, it was expanded with a second purchase that included around 2,500 old Carignan and Grenache vines, some of which are over 60 years old.
