Raspberry, dried strawberry, amaro, crushed rock, medina spice, twiggy facets and struck iron. Textural, purely fruited and exotic, with a supple array of fine tannins and a tension between fruit, tannin and mineral cadence that is bang on the money. Man, these cats can sure make a fine grenache.” 94 Points - Dave Brookes, Vinous

ABOUT THE WINE: From a mix of old-vine Grenache parcels on clay and limestone. Each fermented separately with 80–100% whole bunch, 25–30 days on skins, then 12 months in concrete before blending. Together with local winegrower, Amelia Nolan, they both loved the rolling hills and the promise of the geology that lay beneath, as well as the area of old Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro and Semillon vines that we now call the Old Quarter. They farm 43 hectares of organically farmed vines with younger plantings accompanying the old, still focusing on the heritage varieties that have found their natural home in the region. The vineyard has been extensively mapped by soil type, with the aim to produce true terroir driven wines.

The winery is equipped with tulip shaped concrete fermenters and clay amphorae from Italy, a qvevri from Georgia and small concrete eggs from France. A small amount of larger and older oak barrels is also used. All processes in the winery are designed to protect the integrity of the fruit and it's coil source. Winemaking is pared back so that the imprint of the winemaker is barely perceptible. The winery is equipped with tulip shaped concrete fermenters and clay amphorae from Italy, a qvevri from Georgia and small concrete eggs from France.
