A nursery was planted in 1974 with vineyard sites planted from 1975. Enjoying its first commercial vintage in 1979, Leeuwin Estate was thrust into the global wine spotlight when Decanter Magazine highly recommended the 1981 “Art Series” Chardonnay after an international blind tasting. The accolades have continued, with Leeuwin Estate wines found in leading Restaurants and Wine Merchants across 30 markets. Now under the stewardship of three generations of the founding family, who work alongside a team of dedicated viticulturalists and winemakers, the focus remains firmly on creating site expressive wines of the finest quality. Celebrating the art of fine wine, the Estate’s most opulent and age worthy wines, the “Art Series’ are identified with paintings from Australia’s leading contemporary artists on the labels.

COUNTRY: Australia

REGION: Margaret River, Western Australia

VARIETAL: Cabernet Sauvignon

WINE STYLE: Red Wine

WINEMAKER: Tim Lovett

CLASSIFICATION: Sustainable Farming

CLOSURE: Screwcap

ABV%: 13,5%

SIZE: 750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0367/1208/7597/files/Leeuwin-Estate-Art-Series-Cabernet-Sauvignon-2022-Heritage-Wine-Store-Perth-CBD-Bottleshop_5899d090.jpg?v=1769159208
pol-roger-reserve-champagne-gift-boxed
Pol Roger 'Reserve' Champagne - Gift Boxed

TASTING NOTE: One of the world's most popular non-vintage Champagnes for a reason. The winery is in the Premier Cru village of Cuis where Didier’s family has been growing grapes since 1750. Pierre Gimonnet, Dider’s Grandfather, started bottling estate champagnes in 1935. In addition to the 13.5 hectares in Cuis, Gimonnet owns 11 hectares of Chardonnay vines in the Grand Cru villages of Cramant and Chouilly, plus another hectare in Oger and two in Vertus. Gimonnet also owns half a hectare of Pinot Noir, split between the grand Cru of Aÿ and Premier Cru of Mareuil-sur Aÿ. The high percentage of old vines at this estate sets it apart in a region suffering from a plethora of very young vineyards. Seventy percent of Gimonnet’s holdings are over 30 years old, of which some forty percent are over 40 years old, with 100+ year old vines in the lieux-dits of Le Fond du Bateau, planted in 1911, and Buisson planted in 1913, both in the Grand Cru village of Cramant.

COUNTRY: France

REGION: Champagne

VARIETAL: Chardonnay

WINE STYLE: Sparkling Wine

WINEMAKER: Didier Gimonnet

CLASSIFICATION: Sustainable Farming

CLOSURE: Cork

ABV%: 12.5%

SIZE: 750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0367/1208/7597/files/Pierre-Gimonnet-Cuis-1er-Cru-Blanc-de-Blancs-Champagne-Heritage-Wine-Store-Perth-CBD-Bottleshop.jpg?v=1769159356
picardy-tete-de-cuvee-pinot-noir-2022
Picardy 'Tete De Cuvee' Pinot Noir 2022

TASTING NOTE: "Wow, this is something special…very special. This wine was born through Bill's and Dan's love of old world Pinot Noir wines and their desire to make the best Pinot Noir of which Picardy is capable. This wine is not a reserve wine made in the usual method of selecting the best barrels for separate bottling. Instead, it is made entirely as a separate wine with a greater emphasis on intensity, complexity, structure and cellaring potential. As with the Picardy Pinot Noir, this wine is made from 11 clones (Droopy, Upright, 114, 115, 777 and 6 new clones imported from Corton). The base of this wine is from a 0.1 hectare block planted to traditional old world planting density (10,000 vines per hectare) and trellis style. The remainder of this wine is taken from a portion of the main Picardy Pinot Noir block which is crop thinned to below 5 tonnes per hectare (35 hectolitres per hectare).

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Pemberton based Picardy is owned and operated by Bill, Sandra and Dan Pannell. Picardy was established by the family in 1993. Bill and Sandra were pioneers of the Margaret River region, establishing Moss Wood vineyard and winery in 1969. After selling Moss Wood in 1985, the Pannells had an interest in Volnay’s Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, until the purchase of the property in Pemberton. Dan has grown up in the wine industry and in 1993 completed a Bachelors of Science (Oenology) at The University of Adelaide.

COUNTRY: Australia

REGION: Pemberton, Western Australia

VARIETAL: Pinot Noir

WINE STYLE: Red Wine

WINEMAKER: Bill & Dan Pannell

CLASSIFICATION: Sustainable Farming

CLOSURE: Cork

ABV%: 13.5%

SIZE: 750ml
